Portuguese Presidency headquarters - main entrance
During the last six months this website played the role of broadcasting multimedia information on the Portuguese Presidency, facing the critical responsibility of acting as the main communication source of the Presidency. For that purpose, we made use of press releases, news alerts, weekly newsletters, live streaming of the press conference of the main events (including the signing of the Lisbon Treaty), as well as video, audio and photo galleries.
In addition, we were deeply concerned with accesibility issues, being the first EU Council Presidential website to offer a text reading tool to those with sight difficulties. Our aim was to provide all visitors with the most reliable, fast and detailed information on the main events that took place and we sincerely hope to have fulfilled all their needs.
The numbers of the website are remarkable: almost 1 million visitors, 600 000 unique visitors and 5 million page views. In addition, visitor satisfaction scored 94.6%. For this we strongly thank to all. Detailed statistics of this website will be available soon.
We would like to thank all those who consulted our website during the last six months, highlighting that it will be available during the next three years. Their daily visits and helpful comments worked as the main motivation source for our daily tasks.
We're also grateful to all the Portuguese governmental institutions that kindly supplied us with the information that we broadcasted, as well as to those that helped us with the tasks of creating and running this website.
Last, but not least, we cross fingers for the next six months. We deeply wish the best of luck to our Slovenian counterparts. Their semester will certainly be as rich, encouraging and rewarding as ours.
