The website of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union aims to provide its users with all the necessary information for the next 6 months, during which Portugal will hold the Chair.
Besides the media representatives' access to the accreditation system, the website makes available the calendar of all meetings and events that will take place during the Portuguese Presidency semester, as well as the subscription form for alert services and newsletters.
On the website you can also find some information on the European Union, its Member States and institutions, as well as a chapter dedicated to Portugal, which will allow you to visit its cities and get acquainted with its History, Culture and Traditions.
Easy and quick to surf on, the website takes into special consideration the mobility and accessibility, and comprises a text vocalization software for the blind.
The website is available in its Portuguese, English and French versions.
Technical considerations on the website
The Center for Management of the Government's Computer Network (CEGER – www.ceger.gov.pt) – is the body in charge with the coordination and technological implementation of the website of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It has made available an innovative platform (with technologically advanced areas on accessibility, RSS channels, electronic collaboration, newsletters and others), thus disseminating good practices in the Public Administration on a national and international level.
